Dear Friends,

Our bodies are beginning to let go of the holding they tend to do during the cold and darkness of winter. Energetically, this is a time when we begin to emerge from the more inward-focus of winter. In our yoga practice, it is a great time to do some heart openers and backbends, welcoming back the light and the more moderate temperatures. I also want to share that, in January, Health New England began reimbursing members for yoga classes with certified teachers. I submitted my own reimbursement request for a yoga class card and received my check within two weeks. It was fast and easy. See below for more details. Finally, insurance is recognizing yoga as an important part of wellness! As we edge ever closer to spring, delight in your breath and in moving your body.

Namaste,
Kendra

Are you a Health New England Member? New Reimbursement for Yoga Classes!

In January of this year, Health New England expanded their Fitness Reimbursement Program to include reimbursement for up to $150 of yoga classes taught by certified teachers at wellness facilities (yoga studios qualify!). If you are a member of Health New England, you can download a reimbursement form and learn more here. If you take classes with me and need documentation of my teaching certification, I will be happy to provide that for you. Contact me.

New Blog Entry: The Edge of Grace

Over time, we expand so the edges transform and become part of our comfort zone. For me, I know if I am ready to step up to an edge if I can sense grace just beyond it. I feel nervousness in my body, but I can also feel the currents of grace flowing through me. Read more. . .

Just One Breath a Day

Chinese Medicine & Winter
Excerpt: To get people started on Mindfulness practice, I just need to show them the brain science, explain the benefits, introduce a short sitting, and viola, people get it. That's the good news. The bad news is after the first few days, many people find it hard to sustain the practice. Many of us start the first few days with great enthusiasm, committing ourselves to 10 or 20 minutes a day of this wonderful practice, but after that initial enthusiasm, it starts to feel like a chore. How can we sustain a Mindfulness practice? Read more. . .
